Famed cryptozoology author, Loren Coleman, is joining the Crypto-Man cast beginning with Episode 4 of the comic series – now in the initial creative concept stages. Coleman will play the role of a human operative of the Cryptid Society who, in addition to being “in the know”, keeps Crypto-Man up to snuff on cryptozoological happenings that our super-hero must tackle. “We thought that this casting was appropriate to Loren’s real-life association with his information resource on the Cryptomundo website,” says Crypto-Man Writer/Director, Scott Marlowe. “Loren’s only request was that we didn’t cast him in the role of a villain in the strip. That idea never crossed our minds when we approached him with the invitation to portray a character in Crypto-Man.”
Once Coleman committed to do a role, Crypto-Man art director, Peter Loh, set to work designing a comic strip persona for Coleman. After much discussion with Marlowe and the script team consisting of David Dowdy, Daniel Harrigan and Corey Chimko, Loh conceived of a mysterious detective kind of character – something akin to the Hollywood actor Humphrey Bogart’s Sam Spade role in the John Huston’s film Noir classic “The Maltese Falcon”. The result of Loh’s labor at the drawing board appears on the right. The plot of Episode 4 will continue the theme of the four tests of Crypto-Man’s abilities with the caped conservationist being tried by Earth this time around. So look for Coleman and the rest of the cast in the upcoming Unbelievable Adventures of Crypto-Man!
